Growing up fast!!

I have been really bad about keeping up with this, as usual!

I can not believe how big Jake and Luke are getting. Jake went for his 5 year checkup this past week. He is almost 44 inches tall and weighs 42 lbs! Funny thing is that in September at Luke's 3 year checkup, he is almost 42 inches tall and weighed 37 lbs!! I think Luke is defintely going to be the taller one!

Last week I had off on Thurs and Fri for the Teacher's Convention. My mom and I took the boys into the City and went to the Children's Museum of Manhattan. We also met Uncle Mark for lunch with they they thought was VERY cool!

Luke's Birthday--A little late!

Luke turned 3 on September 6th!

I can not believe how fast time time goes. He's talking a lot more and he is going to preschool. He is a little apprehensive about going but once he is there, he's totally fine.

The teacher is really great with him and I hope he enjoys it. Today my cousin Jaclyn watched them so when she picked them up after school, Luke was all excited to show her what he did that day.

Here are some pics of the birthday:

Welcome to Fall!

The past week has been miserable! I am was looking forward to a couple of days off due to some Jewish holidays but as luck would have it, I got sick! I am currently getting over a double ear infection and sinus infection. Then on Friday night, Luke got croup! It's really an awful feeling when your child is barking and crying and there is nothing you can do about it!
So Saturday morning we were off to the doctor again and got him some medicine which was supposed to help right away. If anyone has ever tried to get medicine into a 3 year old--you know how bad that is!!
So basically since Friday, Luke has not only been sleeping with me, but ON TOP OF ME!! No matter what I do, he is more than my shadow!
Tonight is his first night BACK in his room. We had orginally started out 2 weeks ago having Jake and Luke share a room. That has gone out the window for the time being...
Stay tuned!!

John and Rachele's Wedding

My brother John and Rachele had the most awesome wedding on September 20, 2008 up in Boston.
We had a blast and it was a great time for everyone.
I would love to download some pics but our computer is really acting up and I can not log in under my name where all the pictures are.
I will work on it...
In the mean time, Jake is anxiously awaiting his 5th birthday on October 20th and Luke turned 3 on September 6th!

Labor Day Update

I have been really bad about adding stuff since we were at Daufuskie. For some reason I was not able to upload any pictures down there.

We arrived back in NJ on August 20th. The boys were great on the way home in the car. This time we stopped and stayed overnight right before we got to Virginia.

That weekend we had a party for John and Rachele to celebrate their upcoming wedding.

I spent most of the week before Labor Day at school setting up my classroom.

LAbor Day weekend was busy since there is a carnival all weekend long and a parade on LAbor Day.

Here are some pics!

First Week on Daufuskie Island, SC

We arrived at my parent's house in SC last Saturday morning around 7am after spending 12 hours in the car!
The boys were very good and are extremely excited to be here!
So far we have spent a lot of time at the pool and the beach.
We will be here for about another 2 weeks before we head back to Mendham.

Fun In Our Backyard

The summer is really flying by! (A little too quickly!!) Here are some pictures of the boys outside in the backyard playing in the pool.
Not too much else is going on. I am done with summer school this Friday but the boys still have one more week of camp left after this week. My grad school class is done next Tuesday so maybe after that I can relax!
We are heading down th Daufuskie Island, SC around Aug 1 and staying for a few weeks. The boys are really looking forward to it!

Busy Summer!

The first two weeks of our summer "vacation" have been very busy. The boys are in camp everyday from 9a-1pm and absolutely LOVE it!

I am teaching summer school for 2 hours in Mountainside while they are in camp and it is going well.

Today we cleaned up some baby gear to give to Linsday who is babysitting for a friend this summer. I remember when both boys HATED the pack and play. Now I guess they love it...

Jake's First Yankee Game

Jake and Josh went to the Subway Series Game this afternoon. (Special thanks to Pop for getting the tickets!)

Jake had a great time! His only question was why he couldn't ust go down on the field with the players! Such a cutie!!

Weekend At LBI

On Friday the boys and I drove down to my Aunt and Uncle's house on LBI. Jake was very excited to go to MeMe and Uncle Jay's house for two reasons: the pool in the backyard and the 2 boats in the lagoon!!

Train Ride to Hoboken

Yesterday was the first day of summer. My mom and I took the boys on the train to have lunch in Hoboken. Anyone who lives around here knows that on the weekends, the train takes FOREVER! We walked around the waterfront in Hoboken, had lunch outside and played a little bit in the park before coming home. The boys had a great time although Luke does still have an attitude. Grammy is worried that he is going to end up a juvenile delinquent with his temper tantrums!! :)

Here are some pics of the afternoon.

Firematics

Josh belongs to the Volunteer Fire Dept in Mendham and every year there is a Tri-County Firematics competition. Basically it's like a Field Day between about 11 fire departments.

Here are some pics of the boys while we were there.

Memorial Day Weekend

Luke building a sandcastle with Mommy!

Jake in the ocean! Brrrr!!!!

Mark and Teri's Wedding was a lot of fun! It was great to see all the family members that we don't get to see that often!
Everyone is down the shore for the week. I attempted to take Jake and Luke down on Sunday and the plan was to stay until today (I even called in sick!!).
The boys were having a great time, until it was bedtime! Luke is just really a creature of habit (as my mom says) and was not really into sleeping in a different house. He was having more fun jumping on the bed and running all over the place. So needless to say, I didn't get much sleep at all and we came home yesterday.

I did take the boys up to the beach and we walked on the boardwalk a lot. The weather was beautiful but it was very windy.
Luke had a great time building in the sand. Despite the fact that the water was only 57 degrees, Jake was having a blast!

Updates...

We have a family wedding today and tomorrow we are heading down to the shore until Tuesday with my mom's whole side of the family.
It should be a good time since we don't get together all that often anymore.
I will try to take some pictures.
The boys are doing well and getting very big. Despite the fact that they are 2 years apart, the are pretty much the same size! Luke is going to be very tall!
Jake is almost done with preschool for this year. Unfortunately, I do not finish work until June 25!!!
Jake is going back to the same camp he went to last summer since he liked it so much and Luke is old enough to join him. It is only from 9am-1pm so I am going to work while they are at camp.
When July is over we will probably head down to Daufuskie to my parents house for few weeks before I have to come home to get ready to start school again. I will be teaching first grade next year so I am pretty excited about doing something new.
Hope all is well with everyone and I promise to put up some new pictures of the boys soon!

Spring News

Luke at the pool
Jake out by the golf course

I have been terrible about keeping up with this blog since our trip to Alaska! Life has been pretty hectic with the kids, work and grad school.

Jake and I both had off at the end of April so we went with my parents down to their house on Daufuskie Island, SC.

The boys had a great time and can not wait to go back this summer!

Jake goes skiing!

Our flight back to NJ didn't leave Alaska until 5pm on Friday. So Ryan, Josh and Jake went back to Alyeska Ski Resort south of Anchorage had a great 1/2 day on the slopes!
Jake had his first ski lesson and did awesome!
On another note, we are back in NJ now after a pretty easy trip back. We were worried with all the bad weather here that we would get delayed but we didn't.

Last Day in Alaska

Luke on the front porch and Jake in Uncle Ryan's Hummer

Today is our last day here in Alaska. Ryan & Josh took Jake back down to Alyeska to go skiing.

I opted to stay at the house with Luke so I could get us all packed up and ready to go.

Our flight doesn't leave until almost 5pm here so hopefully they got some good skiing in.

We hear the weather is pretty bad back in NJ. So far, our flight is leaving on schedule. I just hope that we don't get stuck in Seattle!! We are due to arrive in Newark at 6am Saturday morning.

We really did have a good time visiting Ashleigh and Ryan. Hopefully we will be able to get back here to see them before they make their next move this fall.

Morning Shoveling/ Play time

The boys love going outside every morning to help Uncle Ryan and Daddy shovel the driveway.

This morning they also had a great time being thrown all over the place!

Luke was so tired after it all that it is only 10:30am and he is taking a nap!

Jake is very excited that later this afternoon Uncle Ryan is going to take him to see some Army vehicles. We also might head over the the sled hill on post for some fun.
